Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre partnered with the United Nations Department of Public Information to train nine Palestinian Journalists from November 27th to December 8th in Doha, as part of the United Nations Training Programme for Palestinian Journalists.
The training courses will focus on digital media and TV journalism, and will be conducted by Al Jazeera journalists and storytellers.
The Doha agenda is the last stage of a broader programme that includes briefings by senior officials of the United Nations and participation of the Palestinian journalists in different meetings with media experts, policy?makers and non?governmental organizations in New York and Washington D.C.
The training programme for Palestinian journalists was set up in 1995, following the adoption of a General Assembly resolution requesting the Department of Public Information to provide assistance to the Palestinian people in the field of media development. Since then, more than 170 Palestinian journalists have benefitted from this programme.
The 2016 United Nations Training Program for Palestinian Journalists has officially started on November 7th.
